Top Three Thursday: Games

#3 Mexican Train Dominos: One of the best things I learned during college!
#2 Scattergories: I feel like I am the only person in the world that likes this game but I love it!

And of course.....#1 FARMVILLE: Despite the amount of teasing I get for playing this game, I must admit I am very addicted. What can I say, there is not much to do in Alex City!

Maybe this should be my birthday cake next year?!?

Top Three Thursday: Favorite Outdoor Activities

3)White Water Rafting

Haven't been in awhile but everytime I have gone, it is such a good time!

2)Skiing

In high school, I must admit ski trips were more fun because it was good socialization but after my ski trip this past Winter, it really made me have a love for the sport! I spent the rest of the season wishing I could go again!

1)Being on the Lake

Being out on the lake on a beautiful day, in a boat is absolutely, positively my most favorite thing in the world to do! I am thinking I should invest in a boat before a house, what do you think?!?

Casino Night

Saturday night I was invited by Morgan and Lauren to Casino Night, a fundraiser for their Troy Alumni Chapter. It was so fun to hang out with girls, dress up, and learn how to play some new games. We spent the majority of the night learning how to play blackjack, as all of us were clueless. The picture below is of us girls and Marcus, our blackjack dealer. He was so fun and had a lot of patience with us.

At the end of the night, Morgan won/cheated with the help of Phillip's tickets and recieved a whole bunch of Troy football prizes.

Top 3 Thursdays: Favorite Restaurants

Don't think these will be at all surprising to anybody who knows me in the slightest.

3)Mike and Eds BBQ: One of the few things I miss about Tuscaloosa. Oh how I miss my outings to Mike and Eds with the one and only Robert Harris and Bethie.

2) Surprise, Surprise...Chilis is not my number 1! I am pretty sure my picture is on display as customer of the decade at the restaurant in Tuscaloosa. I absolutely am in love with their chips and salsa (bottomless, might I add). Good thing now a days I am a good hour away from the nearest Chilis.

1) Monarca's (sorry no picture available)
Monarca's is the one place I have to visit each and every time I go home. I have lots and lots of memories here as it is the typical place for all of my old high school friends to gather and enjoy just talking and laughing over good times. Although Morgan and Lacey won't agree, I love their food and haven't found another Mexican restaurant that can compare.

Top 3 Thursday: Biggest Fears

3)Having Blood Drawn:

I know, weird, right? I am pretty good at handling the sight of blood (goodness knows I see enough of that at work every day) and even getting a shot or finger prick but the idea of getting blood drawn is horrific to me. I have had it done a few times out of necessity and I cried like a baby. I pray I stay healthy so I don't have to face this fear anymore anytime soon.

2)Fireworks:

This has been a HUGE fear of mine since I was very little. I don't know if its the loud noise or the horror stories on the news of fireworks gone bad but something a long time ago scarred me for life. I can remember sitting on my bed with a pillow over my head praying the city fireworks display would hurry up and end so I could breathe. Although, he won't admit it, I believe my daddy has the same fear, maybe its inherited. Thankfully, with each 4th of July and New Year's that go by, I am slowly becoming more and more able to enjoy fireworks....from a good distance.

1) Public Speaking:

I realize that most of the population of this country has a fear of public speaking but I believe mine goes beyond the norm. Goodness knows I can talk all day with friends and in small groups but you put me in front of a crowd and I am pretty sure I would rather have surgery.
In college I changed classes and even picked my major based on the amount of public speaking involved. Lets not even talk about how I managed to get through public speaking class.

Helen Roadtrip

Friday, after meeting up with Keri and Natalie in Atlanta, we headed off on a little road trip to Helen, Ga to celebrate our good friend Rachel's wedding. We stayed in a cute little cabin called Lorelei Pines with 4 of our other life long friends from Troy.
Once we arrived we immediately got dressed and headed to the Helendorf Hotel in Helen for a "meet and greet" hosted by the groom's parents.
We got to meet Brian's family, enjoy some horderves, and have lots of laughs over a game of Nertz. Needless to say I will probably never be invited to another game of Nertz, definately never got the hang of that one. Here are some pictures from the Meet and Greet:

(Aly and me. Poor Aly got stuck as my partner during Nertz. Sorry :))

All of Rachel's friends at the Meet and Greet: Aly,Natalie,Keri,Rachel,me,Ashley.

Later on in the night, we recieved phone calls from Lauren and Morgan on their way from Tennessee stating that they were lost and at one point ended up all the way in North Carolina due to road closings. Since their GPS couldn't reroute the guys and Leah pulled out a handy map and tried desperately to get them back on track and into Georgia.

Here we all are getting ready to cheer on the two crazy girls after their LONG drive and welcome them to Helen once they finally arrived around 11:30!

Top 3 Thursdays: Favorite Places to Visit

This weeks "Top 3" makes me excited because I LOVE to travel, however, it was very hard to only chose my top three because I have been lucky enough to visit quite a few amazing places!

#3 Nashville: Maybe its my love for country music, but I love this place! I have been here twice and had an amazing time both trips! Can't wait to get back there soon!

#2 Chicago: I went here in 2008 while in Graduate School for a Conference. I helped to organize the trip for our group but have to admit I did not attend one function at the conference because me and my friend, Allie, were to busy enjoying the city! To be such a big city it is so clean, and the people are really friendly!

#1 Alaska: I cannot imagine going anywhere in this world that could possibly be more beautiful than Alaska. One minute we were whale watching in the ocean, the next we were driving on the highway behind a moose, and the next we were climbing a glacier. It is a totally different world up there but a different world I hope to get to experience again one day.

**Honorable Mentions: Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York City, Savannah, Key West, New Orleans, Spain, and Atlanta!

Beth and Josh's Wedding!

Saturday I got up early and headed to Ashland to get my hair and makeup done with Beth and Kayla (Beth's sister) for the wedding. I made it just in time to the church after finishing my hair, to see Beth before she had to leave for pictures. She looked great!

Around 11:00 Heather joined us at the church to get dressed and start pictures! Below is a picture of us with our cute gifts from Beth! She made our necklaces, earrings, and bracelets that matched our dresses perfectly and also made our buckets and a glass wall decoration containing a verse about friendship. I told her she should start a business!
Of course we took lots and lots of pictures!

The ceremony went perfectly and I must say its the most relaxing wedding I have ever been to or been a part of.

I must say my favorite part of the entire wedding had to be when Beth and Josh were pronounced husband and wife and they walked out to Hall and Oats "You Make my Dreams Come True". It made me want to dance back up the aisle and I think it took the preacher and the guests by surprise!

After the wedding we braved the cold and headed to the fellowship hall for the reception! Beth loves Disney movies so of course her cake and table had to reflect Cinderella.

Josh's table was all about the University of Alabama. His cake was extremely yummy and made by Beth's mom Mrs. Charlotte.More pictures from the reception:

Another one of my favorite parts of the entire wedding for 2 reasons: 1) I have never been to a wedding where they release live doves. 2) Beth is deathly afraid of birds and as you can see she had to hide behind Josh when they were released. I am not sure if she was aware of this part of the wedding or not? Here they go, off to Disney World!
